The Dark and Hollow Places (Forest of Hands and Teeth)

The Dark and Hollow Places (Forest of Hands and Teeth) - Carrie Ryan Dark and Hollow places is the third installment of the forest of hands and teeth series by Carrie Ryan. I'm having a difficult time deciding on whether i'm gonna rant or rave on this one. There are parts where I think she did a great job, very creative, excellent writing style and the some parts where really catching my attention. however, this is not the case for the other parts of the book. There were some dull moments, some moments I wished were just completely removed from the book and some that my eyes just want to skim through and forget completely. This is more about Gabry's long lost sister Annah. So the first one was about Mary (gabry's "mother) the second book was about (gabry's adventure) and the third one is mostly about Annah but it also binds all stories of the important characters in the series.I liked the really gripping dystopian feel of the story, it's not as predictable like other dystopian novels, it keeps you guessing and it makes you want to finish the whole thing. The despair, the anger and the love were evident in the book. The author did a good job of not sugar-coating a zombie filled world with hearts and flowers. She showed how humans would really react to such situations. No "love will conquer all" vibe because the characters gave in to defeat from time to time in order to survive. I didn't like the love square thing going on with Annah , Catcher, Gabry and Elias. It's like they are just switching lovers cause it's more comfortable, especially when Annah thought she had feelings for Elias and then she saw him with her sister, - few moments later she got over it and channeled her feelings for Catcher who was Gabry's old lovey dovey. Elias "tried" to love Annah , searched for her everywhere , found Gabry instead and suddenly he "loved Gabry all along". Crazy crazy love whatever there. I also was not fond of the last part. They escaped because of a big ass ballon along with the soulers. And suddenly everything's okay and the only one having a rough time was Annah. It's like Noah's ark on Air. Good but not the kind of book that ties the whole adventure together.(i was given a free digital copy of this through b4r.(thank you!) Unbiased review. (obviously) )
